Live Online & On Demand
Our 50hr Pranayama, Meditation & Yoga Nidra (PMYN) training is a deep dive into the subtle energy of the yoga tradition. Whether you are a yoga teacher, a curious yogi, or health professional wanting to incorporate breath and meditation practices into your work, this training might just be for you ;) Each weekend is dedicated to new topic and practice, each informing the next:
Weekend One: Pranayama
Weekend Two: Meditation
Weekend Three: Yoga Nidra
Final Session: Closing
This program is intimate (only 10 students, min 6), it's detailed, systematic and highly experiential. It follows the following format; lecture, practice and integrate (how to teach). NY Loves Yoga is not a one-style-fits-all yoga studio; we pride ourselves in offering various lineages of yoga, and our 50hr Pranayama, Meditation, Yoga Nidra training reflects that. We will draw upon diverse methodologies; Tantra (Sri Vidyā), Hatha Yoga, Buddhism, Hinduism and modern science. The commonality that threads throughout this training: A nurturing and respect for all traditions, practices and beliefs.
Each person will receive one-on-one mentorship time with Lucas, and a track to teach a Karma-Love Community Class after graduation.
One thing is for sure, you will walk away with a deeper understanding and experience of the subtle energy and tools to create and implement a nurturing and effective experience for yourself and others. See FAQ's below.
Yoga experience required. There will be asana classes incorporated in the training

Q & A
We are inspired you're interested in joining our program. It's our goal for it to be an in-depth, fun and ENLIGHTENING journey. By the end of our training, you will have the knowledge and skills to guide students through a well-rounded and effective pranayama, meditation and yoga nidra practice.
Q. I WANT TO GO DEEPER IN MY PRACTICE, HOW DO I DO THAT?
A. That's great. Our 50-hour training is also ideal for those who want to dive deeper into the study of pranayama, meditation and yoga nidra and to improve their practice. You can’t get these teachings from books alone. Go to the source and dive deep into the technical and philosophical knowledge from a teacher who is living it!
Q. HOW ‘GOOD’ DO I HAVE TO BE AT YOGA TO ATTEND?
A. When you love yoga are curious about fine tuning your practice and have a desire to share wellness, then yoga is already within you. However, we recommend you have a minimum of 6 months to one-year consistent yoga practice before enrolling. We want to ensure that everyone has basic yoga knowledge and can handle themselves safely in class. There will be asana as part of this training!
Q. HOW WILL YOU TEACH ME SO I’M CONFIDENT ENOUGH TO TEACH?
A. That’s where dedication, patience and experience come in. Our training is systematic and detailed; we have included time concentrating on how to teach. Our faculty have gone through many trainings, workshops and certifications. We are devoted to sharing our wisdom and technical skills making sure you have teaching scripts and detailed class blueprints; by the end of the training, you've worked through your fear and lack of confidence. We get it!
Q. WILL I BE QUALIFIED TO TEACH ONCE I COMPLETE THE 50-HOUR TEACHER TRAINING PROGRAM?
A. Yes! With the successful completion of all the requirements of the program, including contact hours, non contact hours, homework, etc, you will receive your Yoga Alliance 50-hour certification from Lucas & NYLY.
Q. WHAT IS THE YOGA ALLIANCE?
A. Yoga Alliance is an organization that was started in 1999 as a way to create nationally recognized standards for yoga teachers and yoga teacher trainings in the US. More and more yoga studios across the country are requiring their teachers to register with the Yoga Alliance, either at the 200-Hour or 500-Hour level. Yoga Alliance registration, however, is not a legal requirement for teaching yoga. Currently, there are no legal certification requirements to be a yoga teacher. The NY Loves Yoga are approved at the Yoga Alliance 200-Hour and 500-Hour level in the United States. Lucas is certified to teach CE (continuing education) credits.
Q. I HAVE AN INJURY, CAN I ATTEND?
A. We recommend that you check with your physician first and must sign a waiver stating that you are able to take the class.
Q. I’M PREGNANT? CAN I ATTEND?
A. All students should first check with their doctor to make sure they are clear to take this training. There will be physical movement as part of the training.
Q. THERE’S SO MANY TEACHER TRAININGS, WHY YOURS?
A. We waited until we had a comprehensive curriculum, master teachers in place and a knowledge that comes from tried and true experience-- not just as teachers but owning and running a yoga studio with thousands of classes taught and voices listened to. Have you noticed we have 4.8 out of 5 stars on ClassPass with 26,397 reviews and counting. We’ve dedicated extra hours to “teaching time”, and “developing your own style” - We want to make sure you feel confident and authentic. We designed our curriculum with that goal in mind.
